The next tip involves the actual email account that you use to do your marketing with. Lots of people think that this doesn’t matter. The truth is, it matters a great deal. If you are using a free email account such as AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, or whatever it is you’re using, while your emails may get delivered to other people, there is no guarantee that their return emails to you are going to get through.

What’s that you say? Return emails? Um, yeah. You know, the ones that potential customers send to you asking you questions about your product or service? With the free email accounts, oh yeah, and free is another word you can’t use in email advertising, where was I? Oh yes, with free email accounts, because of the spam filters that the ISPs put on them to protect you from spam, a lot of your email, especially the emails that you want, won’t get delivered. This could mean the difference between making and losing a sale. So get yourself a professional email account so you know you’re going to get your emails delivered.

The good thing about this is that setup is usually very easy and you can sell products immediately after the setup. Additionally, you can also sell the products on the vendor’s site besides on your own website. Also, you do not need to worry about bandwidth problems. For myself, I recommend E-junkie as a 3rd party vendor.

Let’s face it… the answer is obvious. Anybody born between 1944 and 1964 is a baby boomer. The year 2009 marks the year when the first wave of baby boomers start retiring in massive numbers… and sadly to a life of poverty.

Why? Because, a gross majority (including myself) got cheated by the system. Many friends of mine, including lawyers, engineers, accountants, white collar and blue collar workers alike, were let down by the very system we help build and support.

Recall the cutbacks and downsizing phenomena in the late 80s and early 90s. We had to re-invent ourselves then by learning new skills and switching careers. A lot of us had to dig into our savings just to survive and make ends meet. I went back to college at 52 just to learn some computer skills.

Then came technology where thousands lost their jobs to robotics, ABM machines and so forth. This was followed by a mass influx of immigrants to fill many high-tech jobs, so they said.

The truth be told… they (govt.) lured these people in promising land of opportunity, when in tfact the motive was … more people to support the social economic structure, and the burden that is going to be placed on the structure, once the baby boomers start retiring massively. These immigrants living a life of poverty in the land of opportunity, because we live in the era of low wages. This is a whole article in itself I wrote over a year ago.

How about scandals like Enron where thousands loss their life savings! Let’s not forget the ever increasing number of men who are late fathers. Many started fatherhood in their mid-thirties and early 40s which mean that they still will be supporting children in their 60s. Again, because it’s no secret that children just don’t leave home anymore like we use to. And even when they do… they have such a hard time making it, that parents (baby boomers) are continuously helping them out financially.

It’s also no secret… that our seniors (our parents) are in desperate need of financial help because they live on a measly little pension. Did you honestly think that it would be any different for baby boomers? It’s a rare exception for those who managed it. So don’t be so quick to count your blessings because you’re retiring. Many are staying on past retirement age, if they’re lucky to have a job.

The key to a successful and rewarding lifestyle when you retire is to re-invent yourself now! If not… you’ll just be another statistic in the growing number of seniors that live in poverty until they sadly die.

Once you have found a hungry group of people you will now research keywords to see what level of competition you face. When you find keywords that get searched a lot but have few competing web pages you are now beginning to narrow down what your sites theme will be about.

Then with your chosen keyword or keywords you can register a domain that will contain your targeted keyword. Your next job will be to build web pages that will be search engine friendly and give you the opportunity to be on the first page of the search engines.

Niche research is a funny thing. Many people think they really know how to do it. The truth is, there are many marketers, especially new ones, who don’t fully understand niche research. As you can see, niche research goes way beyond just getting some keyword and competing site stats. The reason so many people fail with their niche is because they stop at this point and don’t bother to see if there is really a need for what they want to sell. They end up finding out there is no market when it’s way too late and they’ve already invested a lot of time and money into their business.

And that’s just NOT smart.
